’YEARBOOK 2020’ is a printed publication created by Shutter Hub. Sourced from the Shutter Hub exhibition of the same name, the publication features 100 selected works chosen by a selection panel made up of; Tallie Wright, BenQ; Beth Kane, Exposure Photography Festival; Judith van Linden, Fujfilm Original Photo Paper; Sarah Belfort, Newspaper Club & Karen Harvey, Shutter Hub.
The ‘YEARBOOK 2020’ project was created in response to the mass amount of graduate shows cancelled this year as a direct effect of the coronavirus pandemic and promotes work by those who are graduating in such uncertain times alongside work by emerging artists and those currently working in the industry.
‘With most of the graduate shows cancelled this year and uncertainty about when events of that size and nature will be able to go ahead, we started thinking about what these shows mean for those involved, and what they’re missing by not having them. In many ways they echo the ethos of Shutter Hub exhibitions – group shows of work by many varied photographers, promoted to the photography world, attended by industry experts, other photographers’ networks and potential employers…’ - Quote sourced from shutterhub.org.uk.
Featured within ‘YEARBOOK 2020’ is my image ‘Stone Vase, Lilies’ (2020) from the series ‘Residues’, which uses found-photography, chemical manipulation and photomontage to explore the pain of loss and the human obsession to prevent the inevitability of death. More from this series is available here on my website.
