© Sid White-Jones - 'Chimera' (2024).
Between the 17th and 23rd of February 2025, my celluloid collage, Chimera (2024), will be on display as part of this year’s Dark Peak Photo Festival, taking place along Glossop’s High Street.
This work was one of many collages I made in preparation for my solo exhibition With Edges Like Glass (2024) at Cambridge Artworks. Whilst it didn't end up being transferred to canvas and exhibited, I was still keen to show it and would like to continue compositing these fantastical and uncanny beings which echo the chimeras of Greek mythology.
You can view this work alongside pieces from over 100 photographers as you explore the high street – each artist interpreting the theme Lost & Found in their own way, reflecting personal narratives, societal issues, abstract ideas, and more.
The artworks will be displayed in various windows around Glossop, and maps of all the exhibition locations can be picked up at Martin’s Bakery, George Street Books, Norris Floristry, and The Artful Pigeon Gallery.
Alongside the exhibition, there will also be a series of photography walks and workshops available to sign up for.
